The Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID) in a statement said it recognises the unified and collective voice of the people in their call for good governance and against corruption at every level.
“Corruption has ruined nations, economies, and businesses. It takes a giver and a taker for corruption to flourish. Corruption runs against good professional ethics, business ethics, and social ethics,” SLID said.
As an institution founded on and bound by the philosophy, principles, and values of good governance, SLID said it calls upon membership, all professionals, business leaders, and political leaders to heed the call of the people, swiftly come together, and make a lasting commitment to build, own and operate structures and systems in businesses, professions and Government that can generate greater social and economic value in our country free of corruption.
