The Sri Lanka-India Media Friendship Association (SLIMFA) is set to host Sri Lanka’s first ever Media Festival on 25 and 26 April at Taj Samudra Colombo, marking a significant milestone in advancing the media landscape in the country.

This premier event will bring together journalists, editors, content creators, publishers, newsroom leaders, and media students for an engaging and insightful experience.

Under the theme “Navigating the New Media Landscape Together,” the festival will explore contemporary media trends and innovations. Key focus areas include AI in journalism, mobile journalism, media monetisation, data journalism, disinformation and fact-checking, content creation, podcasts, and audio journalism.

The event will feature panel discussions, workshops, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities, providing a platform for professional development and fostering collaboration between media professionals from Sri Lanka and India.

The Media Fest is open to all media professionals, students of journalism and multi-media, and stakeholders by prior registration via [email protected].

The SLIMFA, inaugurated in May 2024, was established to strengthen media ties between Sri Lanka and India. Since its inception, the association has conducted multiple initiatives, including panel discussions and roundtables, focusing on key media-related topics.
