The newly signed Sri Lanka-Thailand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will come under spotlight by an experts panel on 15 February at an evening forum jointly organised by the Sri Lanka Thailand Business Council and the Daily FT.
The forum will feature the President’s Senior Economic Advisor R.H.S. Samaratunga, International Trade Chief Negotiator of the Office K.J. Weerasinghe, Finance Ministry Director General Trade and Investment Policy K.A. Vimalenthirarajah and Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chairman Duminda Hulangamuwa. It will be moderated by Daily FT Editor Nisthar Cassim.
A spokesman for SLTBC said the experts will highlight the opportunities for local companies and entrepreneurs via the Sri Lanka-Thailand FTA, which was signed on 3 February in Colombo with President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin as witnesses.
The signing was ahead of Sri Lanka’s 76th Independence Day celebrations at which the Thai premier was the Guest of Honour.
