Sabry meets US President ahead of SL statement at 77th Session of UN General Assembly today

Foreign Minister Ali Sabry met US President Joe Biden at the reception hosted to mark the occasion of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Minister Sabry will deliver the Sri Lanka statement at the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly today in New York.

During the visit, the Minister addressed several Ministerial levels meetings. 

They include; Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Member States of the Group of 77 and China, and the Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative.

He also had bilateral discussions with the Foreign Ministers of UN Member States.

The Sri Lankan delegation at the 77th UNGA consists of Foreign Minister Ali Sabry, the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the UN in New York Mohan Pieris, as well as a senior official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials of the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in New York.
