Sabry to brief Parliament on 4 May on progress in talks with IMF

Finance Minister Ali Sabry will brief Parliament on 4 May progress made during talks that the Sri Lanka delegation held with officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) seeking emergency funding for the country.

This will be followed by a day-long debate on the Minister’s statement.

Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena told Parliament yesterday that if the Opposition requested, the House could convene earlier than the first week of May. However, party leaders decided to meet from 4-6 May.
