A meeting with Minister of Law and Order Sagala Ratanayaka was held at Temple Trees yesterday to discuss the release of students and the way forward.
It was decided that incidents like the attempted kidnapping of medical students will not take place.
The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) is expected to meet with President Maithripala Sirisena to resolve the admission issue.
Those who attended the meeting with Mnister Ratnayaka were GMOAG Chief Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya, Dr Haritha Aluthge, Dr Chandana Dharmaratne, Dr Samantha Ananda, Dr Senal Fernando, Dr.Gotabaya Ranasinghe, Dr Kavinda Makalanda and Dinesh Weerakkody.
