Following the Supreme Court’s ruling on the postponement of Local Government elections, Opposition leader and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa issued a strong message on X.

Premadasa criticised the Government, stating, “A Government that disregards the law is not just incompetent; it is dangerous.” He pointed to recent Supreme Court decisions, including those against the Inspector General of Police appointment, the VFS visa selection, and the violation of fundamental rights due to the election postponement, as significant warnings of Governmental overreach.

Premadasa emphasised the importance of upholding the law, arguing that a Government that fails in this regard threatens the very structures that ensure national stability. “We must act now before this lawlessness undermines our economy, our security, and our future. This is a fight worth fighting,” he said.
