Saliya Wickramasuriya appointed Chairman of CPC and CPSTL

CPC Managing Director Darshana Rathnayake appointed as Managing Director of CPSTL

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has appointed Saliya Wickramasuriya as the new Chairman for both the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd. (CPSTL), effective from 5 October.

The announcement was made by the Minister via ‘X’. The new appointment follows the resignation of Mohamed Uvais Mohamed, who vacated his posts on 4 October. Wickramasuriya, an accomplished energy industry specialist, currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board of the Petroleum Development Authority. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Colombo Port City Economic Commission.

Meanwhile, the CPC Managing Director Darshana Rathnayake has been appointed as the Managing Director of the CPSTL. This dual responsibility is anticipated to foster closer collaboration between the two entities, potentially resulting in streamlined operations and enhanced performance.
