Six estates in the Kilinochchi, Mannar, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, and Puttalam Districts are to be given on long-term lease basis to the Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation for cashew cultivation.
Cabinet approval was given on Tuesday to give the estates on lease, after considering a proposal by Minister of Plantation Development Navin Dissanayake.
The decision to allocate Government lands to Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation on long-term lease basis has been taken in a bad to develop the cashew industry in the country.
