South Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka Jeong Woonjin has said that the South Korean Government will extend its fullest support to Sri Lanka’s in its efforts to overcome the current economic crisis.
The Ambassador made these remarks when he called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Thursday.
The President conveyed congratulations to the newly elected President Yoon Suk-Yeol and his party ‘People Power Party’ for its resounding victory at the recent elections. President Rajapaksa recalled the 45 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries and appreciated the continued support of the South Korean Government to Sri Lanka.
President Rajapaksa briefed the Ambassador on the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka and said that he is looking forward to South Korean Government’s continual support in overcoming the current situation.
The President has requested the South Korean Government to increase the number of job opportunities provided to the country’s youth as well as invited South Korean entrepreneurs to explore investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
