Special Gazette notifies P’ment meeting on Saturday for DDR

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene has issued a special Gazette notification convening the Parliament at 9.30 a.m. on Saturday 1 July.

Following likely Cabinet approval today for the domestic debt restructuring (DDR), it will be presented to the banking sector on Thursday followed by Parliament on Friday which will debate it on Saturday.

In a related development the Parliament’s Business Committee meeting scheduled for 11.30 a.m. yesterday was postponed for 9 a.m. on Friday.
