Sri Lanka’s Most Admired Companies were announced and awarded on Wednesday by the International Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka (ICCSL) together with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Sri Lanka and the Daily FT.
The 10 in alphabetical order were Aitken Spence PLC, Bank of Ceylon, CBL Investments Ltd, Ceylinco Life Insurance Ltd, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company PLC, Hatton National Bank PLC, John Keells Holdings, LOLC Holdings Plc and Sampath Bank Plc.
Five companies received honourable mentions and they were 99X Technology Ltd, Citizens Development Business Finance PLC, Hemas Holdings PLC, People’s Bank and Vidullanka PLC.
The awards will recognise companies that are a cut above the rest in terms of not just their financial performance but also the value they create for their shareholders, customers, employees and the wider community in general. The companies within the top 10 are those that inspire other organisations and entrepreneurs. They have proven their mettle with consistency, authority and sustainable growth, creating excellent business performance.
The Chief Guest at the awards ceremony was Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Guest of Honour was Indian High Commissioner Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
The keynote address was delivered by Deloitte India Financial Advisory President Uday Bhansali.
The Knowledge Partner for the awards was Deloitte and the Assurance Partner was KPMG. The Platinum Sponsor for the event was AIA Insurance and the Colombo Stock Exchange was an Associate Partner.
