SriLankan Airlines said yesterday it has made preparations to minimise inconvenience to its valued passengers at London’s Heathrow Airport that may occur as a result of the strike action planned by ground staff of Heathrow Airport Ltd., on 5 and 6 August.

SriLankan does not envisage any cancellation of its flights at this time and will operate as per its regular schedule.

The airline has reinforced its own operations for passengers and cargo at both the arrival and departure terminals of Heathrow, with additional employees on standby.

However, the areas most likely to be affected include security screening, which are operated by HAL and do not come under the purview of SriLankan.

SriLankan Airlines stated it regrets any inconvenience to its valued passengers due to circumstances that are entirely beyond its control, and has pledged do everything in its power to minimise this inconvenience.

A member of the oneworld global airline partnership, SriLankan Airlines operates a route network of 111 cities in 48 countries from its hub in Colombo and also connects to over 1,000 cities in 160 countries through its oneworld partner airlines.
