State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe will represent Sri Lanka in the Spring Meetings with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank scheduled to be held this week in Washington DC.
In a statement, the Finance, Economic Stabilisation and National Policies Ministry noted that President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Finance Ministry has appointed and assigned State Minister Semasinghe with the IMF coordination and relevant responsibilities.
Separately, State Minister Semasinghe, tweeted on his official account, that participation at the Spring Meetings will be a great opportunity to further enhance cooperation with the international partners of Sri Lanka, to ensure debt sustainability and to step up the progress the country has made towards economic recovery.
It is also learnt that the Treasury Secretary Mahinda Siriwardana and Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe will also take part in the Spring Meetings.
