State Finance Minister and CB Governor meet IMF Deputy MD

State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe and Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe have held talks with the International Monetary Fund Deputy Managing Director Gita Gopinath.

Two parties have held talks on Sri Lanka’s on-going economic challenges and the steps taken by the Government to address them, on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank annual meetings taking place in Washington DC.

IMF Deputy Managing Director Gita Gopinath said she had excellent discussions with the Sri Lankan delegation.

In addition to attending the multilateral meetings, the Sri Lankan delegation will hold crucial discussions with IMF and World Bank management and technical staff, as well as with officials of key nations.

State Finance Minister, Central Bank Governor and Treasury Secretary Mahinda Siriwardana are representing Sri Lanka at IMF and World Bank annual meetings in the US.
