Strictly pure coconut oil only: Consumer Affairs Authority

The Consumer Affairs Authority has issued an Extraordinary Gazette notification prohibiting the blending of edible coconut oil with any other oil.

Through the Gazette notification, the Consumer Affairs Authority directed all importers, refiners, manufacturers, stockists, packers, distributors and traders of edible coconut oil sold in bulk or in retail in bottles or packs or containers, that such edible coconut oil shall not be blended with any other oil/oils.

This directive is effective from 7 May onwards.
