Suresh Perera wins ITR’s ASPAC Tax Practice Leader award 2024

The International Tax Review (ITR) following six months of in-depth research and analysis announced the winners on Wednesday at the ITR EMA and ASPAC Regional Awards 2024.

The gala event which unfolded at the Leonardo Royal Hotel, London Tower Bridge, London shines a spotlight on the most impressive direct tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing and tax disputes experts from across the region.

KPMG Sri Lanka Suresh R.I. Perera won the Tax Practice Leader of the year 2024 for the ASPAC region bringing glory to Sri Lanka. He was also among the four shortlisted persons for the Tax Litigation and Disputes Practice Leader of the Year (ASPAC region). 

Suresh received the award from the ITR Editors Tom Baker and Sam Sholli.

Suresh is a Tax practitioner with 25 years of experience in Tax. He is an Attorney at Law, a LLB Graduate and a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK and Sri Lanka. Suresh has been with KPMG Sri Lanka during the last 24 years.

The International Tax Review (ITR) Awards is dedicated to recognising exceptional achievements in the field of tax. These prestigious awards celebrate excellence across various aspects of tax practice, including tax technology, innovation, policy, compliance, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Covering regions such as the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific, the ITR Awards honour the most outstanding tax, transfer pricing, and tax disputes teams and practitioners. These awards acknowledge the significant contributions and innovative approaches within the industry.

KPMG has won many accolades at the ITR awards in the past as well including Sri Lanka Tax Firm of the Year, Sri Lanka Tax Disputes and Litigation firm of the year. This is the first time an individual regional award has been bestowed on a Sri Lankan Tax Practitioner by the ITR.
