The Capital Maharaja Group (CMG) said yesterday it is entering an exciting new chapter as Suresh Srinivasan takes over as Group Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Suresh succeeds Sunil Kanojia, who guided the Group through one of the most challenging periods in recent memory — from 2019 to 2024.

Under Sunil’s steady leadership, CMG navigated the uncertainties of a turbulent time for the country and emerged stronger. As Sunil retires, he leaves behind a thriving, forward-looking organisation on the cusp of its centenary celebration, a mere six years away. Suresh has been entrusted with leading CMG into this landmark moment.

Suresh Srinivasan, an accomplished business leader with over three decades of experience, brings a wealth of knowledge to the Group. With expertise spanning Manufacturing, Industrial Relations, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing, and Business Turnarounds, he has earned a reputation for driving growth and innovation.

Suresh’s career highlights include revitalising underperforming businesses, notably turning Parry Sugars Refinery India, a 100% export-oriented business, from a significant loss-making entity into a profitable enterprise within two years. He led EID Parry India as its Managing Director, turning around the highly regulated business with all-round improvement in growth, profitability and employee engagement. His leadership has been recognised with national accolades, including the prestigious Best CEO award in Agriculture and Allied Sectors by Business Today, India, in 2023.

CMG has always been a trailblazer, consistently pushing boundaries and innovating beyond the obvious. Suresh, with his impressive track record and strategic vision, is poised to build on Sunil Kanojia’s successes, ensuring that CMG continues to lead and inspire in the years ahead.

As the baton is passed, CMG said it remains steadfast in its commitment to growth, progress, and positive impact — values that have defined the Group since its inception. With Suresh Srinivasan at the helm, the future looks bright as the Group embarks on its journey towards a historic centenary.
