Swadeshi Industrial Works obtains enjoining orders against Care Trust International

Alleged violation of intellectual property rights in “Swadeshi Khomba”

The Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC, manufacturer and marketer of Swadeshi Khomba for eight decades has recently obtained several Commercial High Court of Colombo enjoining orders against Care Trust International Ltd., for violation through its product, of the intellectual property rights of its Swadeshi Khomba. Swadeshi is the owner of the trademark “Swadeshi Khomba”, the market leader in the herbal soap and herbal personal care category for eight decades.

The Colombo Commercial High Court Judge Pradeep Hettiarachchi issued the enjoining orders preventing Care Trust International Ltd., from violating its intellectual property rights in “Khomba”

“Khomba” is a registered trademark of Swadeshi and has been used for over 80 years.

Swadeshi Khomba is a registered product at National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA), Sri Lanka.
