Swiss Air-Edelweiss return to SL for winter season

Recommencing the flight operations between the coun-tries, the first flight from Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss Air, and the national air-line of Switzerland Flight LX 8068 arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport Katunayaka yesterday.

The flight carrying 125 passengers was extended the traditional Sri Lankan welcome at the BIA.   

The Swiss Air Service said that there will be weekly operations until May next year following the resumption. It is expected that this flight service would attract the attention of European tourists which would ultimately strengthen the country’s economy. 

Officials of the Airport Aviation and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau were present at the occasion.
