A top level Thai delegation led by Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Busadee Santipitaks met with the Board of Investment Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody and officials of the BOI and Port City Colombo this week to discuss investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
Sectors explored include infrastructure; e-commerce; EV assembly line, tourism infrastructure and manufacturing; charging Stations; renewable energy, including solar, hydropower, floating solar, energy storage and environmental protection equipment.
The delegation included South Asian and Central Asian Division Director Vipavee Rangsimaporn, South Asian and Central Asian Division Counsellor Sakkorn Janyaphadungpong, Office of the Permanent Secretary First Secretary Ploy Sukthavorn, South Asian and Central Asian Division First Secretary Yahya Wongkanya, Counsellor Prangthip Kongridhisuksakorn, Power Business Director to Deputy Governor Supachai Koonsad, Business Development Division (Electricity Generating Authority International - EGATI Economist Level 7 Kraisorn Limchaikit, PTT Public Company Ltd. Assistant Vice President (AVP) Business Development Sethaphan Kavenapho, International Business Strategy and Development Department Manager Chanon Thaicharoen, Sustainability Strategy Department (Global Power Synergy Public Company - GPSC Senior Analyst Prakit Roatphunyakit, Business Development International Acting Senior Vice President Suabtragool Khowinij, Business Development Division Acting Manager Pahol Chaloeykitti and Ambassador for Thailand in Sri Lanka Paitoon Mahapannaporn also participated.
