The visiting top Dubai-based social media influencer Khalid Al Ameri yesterday admitted he is “overwhelmed” by the following in Sri Lanka.
“I’m overwhelmed with the love and support from the community and people of Sri Lanka, thank you for making us feel at home, I’m so happy right now الحمدلله,” Khalid noted via Facebook.
He arrived on Saturday on a three-day trip to Sri Lanka. He visited the famous red mosque in Fort, enjoyed Pettah street food stalls before taking a train trip to Kandy.
Today, he is scheduled to meet and greet 1,600 Sri Lankan fans after his staff was forced to continually increase the venue’s capacity due to the overwhelming response received from local netizens. The event was originally opened for 250, but hours later they decided to double the capacity to 500 and eventually limited to 1,600 Sri Lankan fans.
Ameri is creating content with his wife Salama Mohamed, portraying the uniqueness and cultural diversity of the destinations and countries they visit via his social media platforms; 8 million on Facebook, 5.3 million on TikTok, 2.5 million on Instagram and over 2.1 million YouTube subscribers.
Khalid was featured in the 2020 list of ‘100 Most Powerful Arabs’ by Gulf Business.
