Treasury approves bonuses for staff of corporations, State-owned companies

The Finance Ministry has approved the payment of bonuses to staff of State corporations and fully State-owned companies for the year 2020.

Treasury Secretary S. R. Attygalle said the payment of the bonuses should be based on the audited financial statements for 2019 of such institutions.

The circular granting the Treasury’s approval for the payment of the bonus has been sent to all secretaries of Ministries and State Ministries and Chairpersons of State Corporations and fully State-owned companies.

The bonuses proposed by the Treasury range from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 3,000 – the highest for employees of those institutions that recorded profits in 2019 and least for those who continued to make losses and failed to reduce losses in 2019.
