Tripartite move in Washington on SL debt restructuring talks

Japan, India and France on Thursday will announce the launch of the debt restructuring negotiations process on Sri Lanka.

The announcement will be via a press conference in the margins of the on-going World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings in Washington DC, USA.

The three creditor countries have been closely working toward a coordinated debt restructuring for Sri Lanka.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe is slated to join the briefing online from Sri Lanka. Other participants are Japan Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki, Vice Minister of Finance Masato Kanda, India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, French Finance Ministry Director General of the Treasury Emmanuel Moulin, Sri Lanka’s State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe, State Minister of Finance who is in Washington DC.
