UNP pushes for general opposition alliance, including with SJB

The United National Party (UNP) has announced plans to form a broad alliance encompassing all opposition political parties, aimed at addressing future elections and political challenges.

This decision was made during a leadership board meeting held yesterday (23) at the political office of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Flower Road, Colombo. 

The proposal was presented by Wickremesinghe himself.

Following the meeting, the former President called for extending invitations to various parties, including the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), to join this unified opposition alliance, designed to effectively respond to upcoming electoral and political developments.
