US to support energy sector reforms, roadmap

The United States Agency for Inter-national Development (USAID) has made available its technical assistance for the restructuring of the energy sector and to develop the roadmap for the transition of CEB reforms.

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera yesterday met the USAID team and Consultant Arindam Ghosh who will assist in the development of the road map and the reform process in the next eight weeks.

Arindam Ghosh of Nangia Andersen India Ltd., has spent three decades in the power sector, with a background in reform, regulatory, strategic planning, policy formulation, utility modernisation, solution implementations and modern energy systems in about ten countries and advised most of the States in India in power sector reform projects.
