Up for sale Litro Gas chips in another Rs. 1.5 b to the Treasury

Up for sale, Litro Gas Company yesterday contributed Rs. 1.5 billion from its profits for 2023 to the Treasury.

The contribution was officially handed over to the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, the company’s parent entity, during a ceremony held at the Presidential Secretariat.

The President’s Media Division (PMD) said Litro Gas Chairman Muditha Peiris presented the cheque to the President’s Senior Adviser on National Security and Chief of Presidential Staff Sagala Ratnayaka, who subsequently handed it over to Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Chief Financial Officer Sriyani Kulasinghe.

During the handover, Peiris acknowledged the significant growth achieved by Litro Gas Company, even in challenging economic times, attributing it to the guidance of President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the unwavering support of Ratnayaka.

Peiris also highlighted that Litro Gas Company contributed Rs. 3 billion as dividends to the Treasury in 2023 as per the PMD statement.
