Vasu neither here nor there

Minister of Water Supply Vasudeva Nanayakkara said he would not attend cabinet meetings nor carry out the work in his ministry in protest at the removal of Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila from their ministerial portfolios by the President.

“This was a mistake to remove these two ministers. I cannot go to cabinet meetings or carry out my responsibilities as a minister unless there is justice for them,” Nanayakkara said.

He said they would not join the Opposition but will take their own program forward and garner public support for it.
