Weliamuna proposed as new envoy in Aussie; ex Air Force Chief to Malaysia

Human rights lawyer and anti-corruption activist J.C. Weliamuna and former Air Force Commander Kapila Jayampathy are among 13 new appointees who have been named to head Sri Lanka’s Missions overseas.

Weliamuna has been named High Commissioner designate to Australia while Air Chief Marshal Jayampathy (Rtd) has been named High Commissioner designate to Malaysia.

Their names have been referred to the High Post Committee of Parliament for examination for their suitability to hold the posts. (CK)
