Former debt market specialist and investor Ajith Gunawardana has been appointed to the Board of Bank of Ceylon as a Non Executive Director by the Minister of Public Enterprise Development.

Gunawardana was once the CEO and Director of Janashakthi Securities Ltd’s and prior to that former’s predecessor Ceylinco Securities.

His appointment was in place of Brian J. Sinniah for the existing vacancy and is effective from 5 November.

Following the latest change the Board of Directors of Bank of Ceylon comprises of Ronald C. Perera, PC (Chairman), Pushpa Wellappili (Treasury rep and Ex-Officio), Ranel T. Wijesinha, Charitha Nissanka Wijewardane, Asela Sanjaya Padmaperuma, Ajit Gunewardene and A.P. Kurumbalapitiya (alternate to Ex-Officio).
