Former Perpetual Treasuries Director and CEO Arjun Aloysius has handed over all communication devices in his possession to the Criminal Investigation Department last evening following a directive made by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry investigating the Treasury bond issue.
The order included instructions for Aloysius to surrender all personal communication devices used by him, including his mobile phone and laptop, from 2015-2016 to the CID team which is attached to the Commission.
However, his lawyer informed the commission that one device, a mobile phone, was destroyed in Singapore. Additional Solicitor General Yasantha Kodagoda requested to know more details of the incident as he observed that it may be an attempt to “suppress materials” related to the ongoing investigation.
