Another Touchwood Independent Director quits

Independent Director L.L. Kulatunga has resigned from the Board of Touchwood Investments Plc. The company announced the resignation effective 8 November to the CSE via a letter dated 14 November and was released yesterday. Reasons for the resignation were not disclosed in the filing signed by Chairman and CEO Lanka Kiwlegedara. Kulatunga is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the United Kingdom. He also holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India with over 42 years of post qualifying experience. TWOD also said that Non Executive Independent Director Chamitha Ranneththi has been made an Executive Director with effect from 15 November. The latest exit brings the number of Directors resigning to over 15 during the past one-and-a-half years. He was identified as Chairman of RKC Construction and Consultancy Ltd., with expertise in financial consultancy in investment of real estate and management of real estate property and plantation.
