Army Chief appoints board to investigate Weliweriya

The Sri Lanka Army yesterday appointed a board to look into the Weliweriya incident, the Government Information Department said last night.
New Army Chief Lt. General Daya Ratnayake appointed a special board headed by Adjutant General Major General Jagath Dias to investigate the facts of what transpired when the army was deployed to quell a public demonstration for clean drinking water in the area.
