Asanga elected to CSE board

Asanga Seneviratne was elected as a director of the Colombo Stock Exchange at the Annual General Meeting held on 25 June 2013 in place of Dr. Saman Kelegama, who did not seek re-election to the  CSE’s Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting. Dr. Kelegama has intimated that he will not seek re-election due to his additional duties as Chairman of Singer Finance (Sri Lanka), his existing commitments at the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka and his other director posts in different institutions and companies. Seneviratne is the founder of Anilana Hotels and Properties. He is a Non-Executive Director of Nation Lanka Finance and Chairman of Nation Lanka Equities. He was the Managing Director of Asia Securities and the Director/CEO of Asia Capital from 2003 to 2010. Seneviratne pioneered online trading at the CSE through Investor Access Asia with CDAX, the first online trading system in Sri Lanka. Following the latest appointment, the Board of Directors of the CSE comprises Krishan Balendra, Vajira Kulatilaka, M.R. Prelis, Dakshitha Thalgodapitiya, Hiran de Alwis, Jeewa Niriella, Ray Abeywardena and Asanga Seneviratne.
