President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday claimed that his Government had not issued a single new casino license since assuming power and pledged that no new licenses would be issued to any persons during his tenure.
Speaking with newspaper editors at Temple Trees yesterday, President Rajapaksa said the Government was planning to bring in laws to regulate existing casinos. “The laws will regulate the areas in which the existing casinos operate. For instance, if they are near schools they will be shifted,” the President assured.
