Aswin De Silva new Chairman at NSB

A senior finance professional, Aswin De Silva has been appointed as the Chairman of National Savings Bank by Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake. Aswin replaces W.A. Nalani who resigned following the defeat of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa administration. Aswin has previously worked at American Express and was a former Finance Director of Associated Motorways Ltd., prior to taking up a career in Australia. Previously he worked as the Country Manager for American Express and accounted for over a decade experience at Amex including being responsible for finance, corporate banking, foreign exchange and travel related business for Sri Lanka and the Maldives. He was also CEO at Ceylinco Savings Bank before joining AMW. De Silva was the recipient of the Chairman’s Award for Quality in April 2001. Aswin is an Associate of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
