B.R.L. to retire from CIC, Harsha made Acting Chairman

Senior business leader B.R.L. Fernando is to relinquish his position as Chairman of CIC Holdings Plc with effect from 31 December 2013.
This is following a longstanding 36 years in the company, of which 33 years were as a member of the Board. The CIC Board has recorded its appreciation for the valuable contribution made by Fernando to CIC’s growth.
The company also announced that Harsha Amarasekera, an Independent Non-Executive Director, would be the Acting Chairman from 1 January 2014.
The CIC Board of Directors will comprise the following from 1 January 2014. S.H. Amarasekera (Acting Chairman), S.P.S. Ranatunga (Managing Director/CEO), E.F.G. Amerasinghe, R.N. Asirwatham, R.S. Captain, S.M. Enderby, M.P. Jayawardena and Prof. P.W.M.B.B. Marambe.
