BOI holds EU Sri Lanka biz dialogue to take investment relations forward

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka held a meeting with major stakeholders of the European Union including diplomats from member states of the European Union, honorary consuls representing EU countries and EU investors.
Also included in the discussion were important line agencies such as the Urban Development Authority, Export Development Board, and Tourism Authority.
This dialogue was a brainchild of Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion Faiszer Musthapha with the purpose of engaging Western European countries in order to address some of the issues relating to investing in Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka-EU business dialogue, which is a monthly meeting, is an ongoing and continual process which will lead to improved perception of Sri Lanka’s investment climate.
This recent dialogue with the European Union follows the very successful Sri Lanka-Middle East dialogue, which was also chaired by This is a dialogue between the Ministry of Investment Promotion and BOI, Government agencies with the ambassadors of the Middle East countries and investors forum these states.
In both cases the dialogues proved to be a very useful forum where all sides were able to share information as well as provide valuable feedback on condition of investment in Sri Lanka.
