Brandix invests $ 14 m in B’desh unit

Sri Lanka’s leading apparel manufacturer, Brandix Group has invested US$ 14 million to set up a garments manufacturing industry in the Comilla Export Processing Zone in Bangladesh.

According to a media report the unit will manufacture all kinds of garment items and create employment opportunities for 2,377 Bangladeshi workers.

An agreement has been signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Brandix Apparel Bangladesh Limited in BEPZA Complex in the city on Wednesday, The News Today reported.

Moyjuddin Ahmed, member of BEPZA and Ajit Joseph Johnpillai, managing director of Brandix Apparel Bangladesh Limited have signed the agreement to start the factory.

The Brandix Group is a preferred solutions provider to some of the world’s best brands, including Gap, Marks & Spencer, Victoria’s Secret, NEXT and Abercrombie & Fitch.
