The block in Mannar Basin will be awarded by March
Anil Agarwal-led Cairn India to get one more exploratory block in the Mannar Basin of Sri Lanka, India’s Business Standard reported yesterday.
“A senior Sri Lankan official told Business Standard that the block M5 would be awarded by March,” the report added.
Cairn India has also sought extension of the Ravva production sharing contract. The contract expires in 2019.
Director Operations and Development Rich Paces said: “The Ravva field is significantly larger and has EOR potential. The field could go beyond 2019 if the Government agrees to extend the PSC.”
Cairn is awaiting its PSC extension for its Rajasthan RJON-90/1 from the Government. The block expires in 2020.
