Cargills pledges continued support to dairy farmers

  •  Remains the only company to continue uninterrupted purchase of fresh milk

     

Cargills (Ceylon) Plc yesterday along with its subsidiary Kotmale Holdings Plc pledged their continuous support towards its local dairy farmer in the wake of the current crisis prevailing in the dairy industry in the country.



Rising to the occasion as a responsible corporate citizen Cargills stated that its mandate to develop the local dairy farmer would remain steadfast. Cargills has continued to purchase fresh milk from its network of 17,000 small holder dairy farmers on an uninterrupted basis.  Cargills together with Kotmale continues to source a daily average of 60,000 litres of fresh milk from its farmer base.  Cargills reiterates that its purchasing of fresh milk would continue to remain uninterrupted. Cargills also urges all responsible consumers to increase the consumption of fresh milk and products made from fresh milk to support Sri Lanka’s dairy farmers in these challenging times.
