Central Finance, Lion Brewery Rs. 5 b debenture issues snapped up

Central Finance Plc (CFIN) and Lion Brewery Ceylon Plc (LION) yesterday successfully completed their separate debenture issues with a combined value of Rs. 5 billion

CFIN said its two million issue of unsecured, redeemable debentures at Rs. 1,000 each for a total value of Rs. 2 was oversubscribed and consequently closed yesterday.

LION said its three million issue of rated unsecured, redeemable debentures at Rs. 1,000 each for a total value of Rs. 3 billion was oversubscribed and consequently closed yesterday as well.

Successful oversubscription of these two issues comes hot on the heels of HNB completing a Rs. 4 billion issue last week.
