Chinese Premier congratulates Ranil

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has extended his congratulations to Ranil Wickremesinghe on his appointment as the Prime Minister of the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

In his message of congratulations, the Chinese Premier stated he believed that under the leadership of Ranil Wickremesinghe and the new Government of Sri Lanka, the economic and social development of Sri Lanka would achieve greater success.



“China and Sri Lanka are time-tested good friends and partners. The two sides have established a Strategic Cooperative Partnership featuring sincere mutual support and everlasting friendship under which mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields have been expanding. This has brought tangible benefits for the people of the two countries. The cooperation between us will continue to serve the fundamental interests of the two peoples,” he added.

Li reiterated that the Chinese Government attached great importance to the relations between with Sri Lanka and was willing to further develop the traditional friendship of the two peoples and strengthen mutually-beneficial cooperation. Premier Li Keqiang also stressed that he was looking forward to working together with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to promote the China-Sri Lanka Strategic Cooperative Partnership to a new high.
