CID summons Namal Rajapaksa

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa yesterday said that he received a notice to appear at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on 12 June.

In a status update on his official Facebook page, Rajapaksa said that he had received a notice to appear at the CID to provide a statement.

“Just received notice to be present at the CID June 12 to record a statement, but no information has been given as to the reason,” the status update said.

Following the defeat of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa several members of the Rajapaksa family have been summoned to the CID and the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) to give statements.
