The highly useful and influential CIMA Business Leaders Summit will be inaugurated this evening at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, whilst the sessions proper will be held tomorrow.
The event as an intellectual engagement seeks to educate Sri Lankan entrepreneurs on the projected global business trends and provide them the much-needed mechanisms, tools, skills and insights to succeed in the prevalent business environment.
This year an elite panel of speakers will provide their expertise on the form, force and flexibility of power.
Senior Vice President of Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-insaaf political party Asad Umar will deliver the keynote address titled ‘Leveraging the Power of Asia’ tonight. He was the President and Chief Executive of Engro from 2004 till his early retirement in 2012.
The trailblazer will emphasise on selected corporations and individuals who have pursued a sustained growth model to realise economic benefits for the Asian region whilst sharing knowhow on underexploited opportunities and untapped potential of Asia in terms of its growing population and the prospective benefits the region holds for global and regional trade.
Asad was previously the Chairman of Pakistan Business Council, Pakistan Chemical and Energy Sector Skill Development Company and Punjab Skill Development Fund. He is a notable figure in Pakistan and was been awarded the Sitra-i-Imtiaz (star of distinction) by the Government of Pakistan in 2010. See also Page 5
