Commemorative coin to mark 150th Birth Anniversary of Anagarika Dharmapala

The Central Bank yesterday issued a

commemorative silver coin with a face value of Rs.500 to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala in recognition of his national service. The commemorative coin issuance took place at Colombo on 13 March 2015 by presenting the coin to Minister of Finance and Prime Minister of India. A limited number of coins will be available for sale at a price of Rs. 8,700 from 16 March 2015 at the Economic History Museum, No.54 Chatham Street, Colombo 1, and thereafter at CBSL Regional Offices at Anuradhapura, Matara, Matale, Jaffna and Trincomalee.
