Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), which held a tender yesterday for a fresh round of procurement, had allegedly snubbed biggest oil trader Vitol over strained recent ties though the State-owned giant found ENOK, whose supplies also ran into controversy, dearer.
The Daily FT learns that when the bids for the tender for 310,000 barrels of gasoil and gasoline closed yesterday, only the submissions of ENOK was revealed whilst Vitol’s wasn’t read, though its quote was at least $ 1 million cheaper.
CPC is seeking a combined cargo of 30,000 barrels of 0.25% sulphur gasoil and 280,000 barrels of 90-octane gasoline for delivery into Muthurajawela and Dolphin pier in Colombo later this month.
