Sampath Bank to go for Rs.1.5 b debenture issue

Sampath Bank plans to issue 15 million debentures at Rs. 100 after getting regulatory approval. The bank said in a stock exchange filling that it hoped to issue an additional 10 million debentures in the event the issue was oversubscribed to be quoted on the stock exchange.

 

Renuka City Hotels in Rs. 218 m expansion

Renuka City Hotels Plc has been given approval to construct an extension to the existing building at a cost of Rs. 218 m.





The new building will include 18 guest rooms, a swimming pool and gym, staff facilities and a groundfloor car park. Shares of Renuka closed 50 cents lower at Rs. 26.50 yesterday with 4,500 shares traded.



Anura Siriwardena appointed to Aviva NDB Insurance Board

Anura Siriwardena has been appointed to the Board of Aviva NDB Insurance from 8 February. He replaces Indrajit Wickramasinghe.

Siriwardena, who is presently a Director of National Development Bank Plc, was formerly the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Independent Television Network Ltd. and Secretary to the Ministry of Co-operatives and Internal Trade. He is a Secretary to the Ministry of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development. The appointment is subject to approval from the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka.



Prof. Ranjith Bandara appointed to Infrastructure Developers Board

Professor Ranjith Bandara has been appointed to the Board of Infrastructure Developers Plc from 1 March 2012.  Prof. Bandara is the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Foundation and a senior Economic Advisor and Director of the Financial Services Cluster of the Strategic Enterprise Management Agency of the President’s office.

He serves on the Boards of Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka, Merchant Credit Sri Lanka, MBSL Savings Bank and Merchant Insurance Ltd.
