Customs DG resigns

The Director General of Customs, Jagath P. Wijeweera, tendered his resignation to the Finance Ministry Secretary yesterday.

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake acknowledged that he had received and accepted Wijeweera’s letter of resignation.

He said that Wijeweera had resigned due to personal reasons and commended him for the service he rendered during his tenure.
