Controlling shareholder Dhammika Perera has been appointed Chairman of Royal Ceramics PLC.
This is following longstanding Chairman A.M. Weerasinghe stepping down though he will continue to serve as a Director on the Royal Ceramics Board.
Dhammika-controlled Vallibel One Plc owns a 51% stake in Royal Ceramics Plc. Weerasinghe as at 31 March held a 6.45% stake, though in recent months he had divested a part of the stake.
Following the changes, the Board of Directors of Royal Ceramics Plc comprises Dhammika Perera (Chairman), Nimal Perera (Managing Director), A.M. Weerasinghe, Tharana Thoradeniya, Ravi Thambiayah, Rajan Asirwatham, Lalin Samarawickreme, M.D.S. Goonatilleke, G.A.R.D. Prasnna and A.L. Thambiayah (alternate to Ravi Thambiayah).
